How to Enable Local Area Connection Icon on Taskbar

Follow these steps to enable the Local Area Connection icon on the taskbar (see below).

First, right click on the My Network Places icon to bring up the menu, and then select Properties.

This will bring up the Network and Dial-up Connections window. Double click on Local Area Connection.

Power Options Properties

This will bring up the Local Area Connection Status window. Click on the Properties button.

This will bring up the Local Area Connection Status Properties window. Click on the "Show icon in taskbar when connected" checkbox and click on OK.
