The Event Viewer in Windows NT is a useful tool for troubleshooting. It has been moved in W2K to the Administrative Tools folder.

First, bring up the Control Panel by clicking on the Start button and select Settings / Control Panel. Then double click on the Administrative Tools icon.

This will open the Administrative Tools. Double click on the Event Viewer icon.

This will launch the Event Viewer. You can then select from the various logs. You must have administrative rights to view the Security log.
