How do I install the AMR soft modem in Windows NT 4.0?

Restart the system and keep hitting the DELETE key to go into the system board BIOS.

Go into Integrated Peripherals and enable the "AC97 Modem" setting; save and exit from the BIOS.

Start Windows NT 4.0 and log in locally as the Administrator (or a user with local administrative rights).

Download or copy the NT setup program (1.6MB) to the \temp folder and run it to extract the files.

Then run SETUP.EXE and follow the screens below:

Welcome to Setup
Click on the "Next" button to start the installation.

COM port setting
Leave the COMM port at COM3 and click on Next.

Next Disk
Click on OK to continue the setup.

Modem System Info
Click on Next to continue the setup.

Install New Modem
The NT Install New Modem window will appear. Make sure you check the "Don't detect my modem; I will select it from a list" box and then click on Next.

Install New Modem
For "Manufacturers" scroll down to Modem Vendor. For "Models" select AMR Modem and click on Next.

Install New Modem
Click on the "Selected ports" radio button and select COM3 and click on Next.

Finish
Click on Finish to complete the setup.
