(815EA vs. V94S) page 9 of 10 Since the Via Apollo Pro 133A chipset is very similar to the Intel 815E, let's take a look at how these two chipsets perform. To test the VIA chipset, we are using the Premio V94S motherboard.
Under
Winstone 99 Business, we see the 815EA is a bit faster than the V94S. And the same is true under
Content Creation 2000.
Moving
to the video performance, we see that once again the 815EA has a slight lead over the V94S.
And
lastly, here's the hard disk drive performance of both systems. Due to the faster ATA-100 IDE interface of the
815E chipset, the 815EA system has no problem beating the V94S with its slower ATA-66 IDE interface.
