    BIOS Questions

Do you have a BIOS history file that includes the problem(s) fixed for each revision of the BIOS?

  • Yes, click here for the file.

How do I flash or upgrade my BIOS?

  • Updated BIOS are available on our FTP site.

I'm running Windows 9x and plug & play doesn't seem to work.

  • Go into the BIOS's PC/PnP Configuration and enable the PnP OS option.

How do I clear the CMOS? How do I clear the BIOS password?

  • Power off your system, move JBAT1 to 2-3 and leave it there for 2 or 3 seconds.
  • Move JBAT1 back to 1-2 and power up your system.

I flashed my BIOS, but now I get no video.

  • Try clearing your CMOS (see above).

    Hardware Questions

I'm only using one Pentium II processor now; do I need something in the second processor slot?

  • Yes, make sure you have the terminator bracket for the second processor slot. If you wish to add a second Pentium II processor, make sure it's the same speed as the primary processor.

I have a Pentium II/350 and I have set it to Pentium II/400 and the system seems to be working.

  • It is possible to overclock a CPU, but the stability of the system may be compromised. In other words: DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I can't seem to run the system reliably with the 100MHz memory bus.

  • Make sure your SDRAM is rated for PC100. Don't try to push 66MHz SDRAM to 100MHz. It may work but the system may be very unstable.

I've turned the system on, but I'm getting no power (i.e., power supply fan does not even spin).

  • Make sure the wire from your power switch is connected properly to the motherboard; see the motherboard manual.
  • Try reseating the ATX power connector to the motherboard.
  • Disconnect all power connectors to your HDD, FDD, CD-ROM, etc. then try to turn the system on.

I have two USB ports in the back, how do I get them to work?

  • Windows NT 4.0 currently do not support USB.
  • Windows 98 have native support for USB.
  • Windows 95 (version 950B or 950C) can enable the USB ports by getting the Microsoft USB driver and the Intel USB INF update.

Can I use just one DIMM?

  • Yes, the system board will work with just one DIMM present.

What kind of DIMMs should I use?

  • The motherboard take unbuffered 3.3V SDRAM DIMM.

I have a PnP soundcard and PnP modem, but I'm getting conflicts.

  • It's recommended that you let the modem take COM2 (2F8h/IRQ3); see the question below.
  • And set the soundcard at 220h/IRQ5/DMA1, if possible.
  • Also, try adding the card in one at all time; put the soundcard in first, let 95 detect it, then add the modem.

I have a plug and play modem, how do I setup it for COM2 in Windows 95?

  • Disable serial port 2 in the BIOS and remove the COM2 port, if present, in Windows 95's Device Manager.

I get no video; how do I troubleshoot it?

  • Try reseating your video cards, memory, and CPU; or try swapping out the components.

    Operating System Specific Questions

Do you have a troubleshooting guide for Windows 98?

  • Yes, we do; please see PREMIO Windows 98 Troubleshooting Guide.

Do you have a troubleshooting guide for Windows 95?

  • Yes, we do; please see PREMIO Windows 95 Troubleshooting Guide.

In Windows 95's Device Manager, how do I rid of the PCI Bridge and PCI USB entries under Other Device?

  • Download this updated INF file (577K) for Windows 95.

Do you have a troubleshooting guide for Windows NT 4.0?

  • Yes, we do; please see PREMIO Windows NT 4.0 Troubleshooting Guide.

I'm running Windows NT 3.51 and I've applied service pack 4, now I can't see my IDE CD-ROM drive.

  • If your CD-ROM is on the secondary IDE channel, make sure it's set to master, not slave.
