  • Power off your system, move JBAT1 to 2-3 and leave it there for 2 or 3 seconds.
  • Move JBAT1 back to 1-2 and power up your system.

    Hardware Questions

I have the Intel Celeron/300A or 333A CPU, but it only shows as 98MHz and it hangs the system.

  • You need to update your BIOS to version 1.2 or higher.

How do I disable the onboad ATI video?

  • Just add the PCI or ISA video card and it will take control.

I've turned the system on, but I'm getting no power (i.e., power supply fan does not even spin).

  • If your ATX power supply has an on/off button in the back, make sure it's turned on.
  • Make sure the wire from your power switch is connected properly to the motherboard; see the motherboard manual.
  • Try reseating the ATX power connector to the motherboard.
  • Disconnect all power connectors to your HDD, FDD, CD-ROM, etc. then try to turn the system on.

I have two USB ports in the back, how do I get them to work?

  • Windows NT 4.0 currently do not support USB.
  • Windows 98 have native support for USB.
  • Windows 95 (version 950B or 950C) can enable the USB ports by getting the Microsoft USB driver and the Intel USB INF update.

Can I use just one DIMM?

  • Yes, the system board will work with just one DIMM present.

What kind of DIMMs should I use?

  • The PREMIO EX motherboard only accepts unbuffered, tin leads, 3.3V SDRAM DIMM ONLY! You can use either 66MHz or the new PC100 DIMM.

I have a PnP soundcard and PnP modem, but I'm getting conflicts.

  • It's recommended that you let the modem take COM2 (2F8h/IRQ3); see the question below.
  • And set the soundcard at 220h/IRQ5/DMA1, if possible.
  • Also, try adding the card in one at all time; put the soundcard in first, let 95 detect it, then add the modem.

I have a plug and play modem, how do I setup it for COM2 in Windows 95?

  • Disable serial port 2 in the BIOS and remove the COM2 port, if present, in Windows 95's Device Manager.

I get no video; how do I troubleshoot it?

  • Try reseating your video cards, memory, and CPU; or try swapping out the components.

The JP1 jumper block is located between the onboard IDE connectors and the battery. The jumper next to the IDE connector is 1; the one closest to the battery is 4. (Refer to System Board Diagram above.)

For the keyboard lock jumper, putting a jumper on it will lock the keyboard; so it should be open by default. If the HDD LED, power LED, or speaker doesn't work, try reversing the connector.

Don't mix up the PS/2 mouse and keyboard connector, otherwise your keyboard may not work properly. It's highly recommended that you use powered speakers for the onboard sound. The joystick port is also the MIDI port.
